Here is where we post details of State Level Events within our Fraternal Order of Eagles.
State Park Update:
Paul and Marie Glisson, and their friend Dave Williams pulled together to fix the road leading into the State Park prior to the annual F.O.E. State Park Picnic event. Original quote to fix the roads was $55k+ and the job was completed for around roughly $10k. Kudos were given to those who made that happen.
State Park Cleanup Crew:
Our very own State Aerie President and #143 PWP Gary Turner, Paul Glisson, Marie Glisson, Sabrina Gonzalez, Robert and Barb Libby, Faye Przepioski and Faye's friend from Colo Spgs, Willy & Sherill Rick from Pueblo, Lenny Arguello from Lamar, and two from Northwest Aerie, were all in attendance to perform the cleanup. With the dedication of these few folks, we had an awesome cleanup crew to prepare for the picnic event.
Nov 5th Workshop:
Steve Silvestro will be hosting the Charges, Suspensions, and Trials Workshop at Eastside Aerie #3260 on November 5th, 2022. Contact their Aerie Secretary for further details.
Mardi Gras Location:
Steel City 3367 will be the location on February 25, 2023 for the Mardi Gras Charity Fundraiser for President's Special Projects.
Potato Peeling Event:
Jim Young discussed that on Nov 17 at Aurora Aerie 3224, there will be a Potato Peeling Event in preparation for their Annual Community Thanksgiving meal where they donate hundreds of meals to their community.
Bald Eagle Club:
This was a special event where those in leadership positions shaved their heads to raise money for their President's charity. It cost each participant $100 entry fee to have the barber shave them to chrome dome and get their name on a tile to be displayed on the wall at the Aerie 595. A great turnout was had by all in attendance for this wonderful charity get together.
Guest Speaker:
At the Fall Conference Banquet in Grand Junction at Aerie #595, the food was awesome, the folks there were so kind and helpful, even those in walkers or with canes were assisted thru the line for the meals to help them by carrying their plate from food tables to eating table. There were approximately 83 in attendance at the dinner. One of the Special Guest Speakers at the banquet was Grand Madam Trustee Kim Haidsiak, a very funny, well versed and informative speaker from Iowa. She was very engaging with the masses and kept you on your toes listening to her, especially thru the fun banter between her and her husband. She is definitely someone you want at your big Fraternal Order of Eagles event.
State Ritual Competitions need more members to apply.
There are currently five (5) Aeries with Eagle Rider groups. They do excellent charity work in and out of our communities.
